Sergiani around Zakynthos

What Zakynthians call Sergiani (Σεργιάνι).

Sergiani meaning stroll or walking around, is a typical traditional way of seranading through the streets of Zakynthos. Friday afternoon we saw the all men’s choir of “Faneromeni” seranading throughout the town.

Folklore dancing by the Social Group ” Manolies”  with its dance group “Atzarnto ” also added to the entertainment for visitors and locals alike,  who were pleasantly surprised at what the groups had accomplished, which was to bring back the true Zakynthian tradition to our streets once more.

Melodic Sergiani flooded the town center and a  dancing feast of traditional dances, depicting integral elements of our culture was shown.
The Sergiani began at Agios Sarandes at 19.30pm and continued on to Solomou Square.
