shipwreck cove Navagio officially open

News has just come in from the Zante Info Centre at Lagana that visitors to our Island have been allowed, for the first time officially, to land on the beach area of Shipwreck cove.  Zante Info Centre has been booking tours for the shipwreck but it was only today the Port Authorities gave the green light for their clients to approach the beach area. Obviously there would be some restrictions but we will have to find out exactly what and how as soon as our visitors return from their trip.

We remind you that some days ago we reported that there have been some proposals as to allowing the beach area to open again, and it seems that the necessary documentation has gone through as the Port Authorities have lifted the ban.

Zakynthos Informer will update with all the necessary information as soon as it has been published but for now, those who were and are hoping to go on the beach and explore… It is open.

However we would advise that you get in touch with your agency before going out as we must remind you the proposals have not been issued in the Government’s Gazette and until then we do have our doubts.

UPDATED:- More information has come through that the beach is CLOSED until futher notice… Please read post below.
