In a press release the Political part known as KKE has questioned the Minister of Interior Affairs and the Minister of Environment and Energy.
Their state reads:-
Subject: For the area known as “island” area of Kiliomeno, Zakynthos
The area known as “island” in Kiliomeno, Zakynthos, is public – community because it was granted in 1985, under the presidency of Marouda Ieronimos Flari, to the community under the condition that a road would reach the area.
For 35 years the community of the “island” has not been questioned by anyone. Since 2014, individuals have been appearing as owners of the area and there has also been a change in the area in the form of (tree cutting, cementing areas, even up to and inside the cave). There is even a listing for sale at the real estate agency (interzante.gr code 12402) for 4,500,000 euros.
Since 2017, residents have complained to the Municipality of Zakynthos demanding that their community characteristic be maintained.
Ministers are asked what measures the Government will take to ensure the Community-public nature of the ‘island’ area in Kiliomeno, Zakynthos.
