The Volunteer Group of Zakynthos

The Volunteer Group of Zakynthos in conjunction with the national campaign “Let’s Do it Greece”, cleaned up the area of Kyroneri. The team started at the Kindergarten area and made their way to the end of the coast line cleaning up rubbish and debris left behind from the storms. Once again the idea of the campaign was to make people aware of the importance of volunteer work and at the same time pushing the campaign of NO PLASTIC. Unfortunately, as you can see in the photos there weren’t just plastic items, straws and plastic bottle caps being among the worst of all for our seas, but other items that were just left lying along the coast line.

The national campaign saw a lot of volunteers getting together, even some of those were brave enough to fight the bad weather conditions still went out and did their part to help make Volunteering an awareness among our citizens. Today’s group was a little larger than usual; perhaps the message has slowly got round.

Go Volunteers, Go Volunteers of Zakynthos.
