It’s only a matter of time for the completion of the Municipal Theatre’s work and as we are nearly into the final count down, the excitement for this important project peaks.
The completion for the delivery procedure for the building and the existing equipment by the reception committee appointed by the City Council will be postponed towards the end of the month, as – according to information – some outstanding issues remain with regard to the testing of the mechanical equipment to be sorted out from the contractor’s side. The members of the committee will again visit the project after January 15th, in order to prepare the minutes of receipt and follow the approval of the City Council.
At present, however, the image presented by the theater’s exterior is completely different from the past: The ugly iron sheets around the building have been removed from the beginning of December and has”revealed” the new and beautiful coastal building, while in the final stage there is also the work on the construction of the sidewalks in Lomvardou street as well as Filitas street, which has been undertaken by the contractor ARCHIKON Theater. The restoration of the surrounding area to the left and right of the Theater will be made by the Municipality of Zakynthos, with a budget of 90,000 euros.
In the next few weeks, the procedures to supply the building with other equipment needed , which according to the city council’s decision was made by direct assignment, but also for the supply of the additional equipment required to make the work operational, are expected to be completed.
