There are 36 positive cases of coronavirus in the nursing home in Asvestochori, Thessaloniki
The coronavirus was spread in the nursing home by an employee, as a person close to him had gone to a concert in Halkidiki. This was stated by the professor of infectious diseases, Sotiris Tsiodras, who visited the site earlier, accompanied by the secretary general. Of Civil Protection, Vassilis Papageorgiou as well as the professor of Pathology-Infectious Diseases at the A Pathological Clinic of “AHEPA” Symeon Metallidis.
On his way out of the nursing home, Mr. Tsiodras announced that -according to the information they have so far- the virus was allegedly transmitted by an employee, who a few days ago, a person close to him had gone to a concert that had taken place in Halkidiki.
Also, as he said, the cases in the nursing home amount to 36 so far, of which 33 are elderly and 3 are employees. Mr. Tsiodras, at the same time, stressed that he greeted all the nursing home, who are in good health, while those who are positive for the virus will be transported to a hospital in the city.
