Suspected members of far-right Golden Dawn have desecrated a Muslim cemetery in Alexandroupolis, Northern Greece, on Wednesday. they painted party symbols and left leaflets with nationalistic content.
They painted symbols of the party and far-right organization ‘Stohos” on the graves. They also left flyers with Golden Dawn slogan reading “Greece belongs to Greeks.”
Leader of GD Nikos Michaloliakos reportedly spoke of “provocation” and condemned the vandalism. “For one more time they set up a provocation against Golden Dawn and thus during a pre-elections period,” he said urging authorities to find the perpetrators and “our slanderers.”
