World on alert after woman from China infected with a new strain of corona virus.
The World Health Organisation confirmed that a woman travelling from China to Thailand has been infected with a new strain of corona virus. The finding is the first detected outside of China.
W.H.O states…
This is the first exported case from Wuhan City, China since the initial report of cases in Wuhan city on 31st of December, 2019. Forty one cases have preliminary diagnosis of 2019-nCoV infection. A death has also occurred to a person who had severe underlying health problems.
Symptoms of the disease include fever, breathing difficulties and pneumonia.

Based on information provided by national authorities, W.H.O’s recommendations on public health measures and surveillance for novel corona viruses apply.
W.H.O does not recommend any specific health measures for travellers. In case of symptoms suggestive of respiratory illness either during or after travel. Travellers are to seek medical attention and share travel history with their healthcare provider. Travel guidance has been updated.
W.H.O advises against the application of any travel or trade restrictions on China based on the information currently available on this event.
