Zakynthos is among the 24 hour hospitals in operation for coronavirus.
The Government’s plan to start tourism has brought about the change in how tourists will be treated upon entering Greece. Testing will become part of the entry requirements depending on the country the traveller travelled from. (A detailed list will be available soon.)
The General Hospital of Zakynthos is among the island hospitals that will provide a 24 hour service in regards to covid-19 cases if needed. It is also on the list for being able to provide ICU units and has the ability to transfer patients quickly to the main land if needed.
Another addition to naming Zakynthos as a safe zone is therefore not only as the island is covid free, but it also provides a safe haven in regards to health measures and care taken.
All hotels in the area have been trained to deal with possible situations of covid-19, and are able to deal with possible cases quickly and efficiently if needed. There will also be a hotel provided by the Government for “quarantine” reasons. Thus keeping residents and visitors safe.
In addition, the Government will provide mobile testing units that will also add to improvements. Testing units will be able to test possible cases at a quick rate. Our hospital has also been donated the most up to date equipment. This will enable a covid-19 test to be checked within 45 minutes. While plans to create a “Point of Care” area where analysts are able to help in the process.
