Three people were arrested for offenses of attempted murder, law on weapons and drug trafficking in Zakynthos.
Among other things, a 9 mm pistol, fifteen cartridges of the same caliber, a quantity of raw cannabis, an iron fist, the sum of € 870, an electronic precision scale and seventeen shotgun cartridges were confiscated.
A local and two foreigners were arrested during a police operation of the Zakynthos Police Directorate, which took place yesterday evening (25.05.2021) and unfolded until the early morning hours today (26.05.2021), for crimes of attempted murder. , Law on Arms and Drug Trafficking.
In particular, yesterday evening (25.05.2021) in the area of Agios Gerasimos, Zakynthos, an incident of shootings took place. For its investigation, a team of police officers of the Zakynthos Police Directorate was immediately established (Zakynthos Security Department, OPKE, DI.AS Team and Police Department).
The evidence of the police investigation revealed the involvement of a local and a foreigner, who were successively arrested during the large-scale police operation in various areas of the city of Zakynthos.
In the investigations carried out, found and confiscated, among others:
• at the point where the shots were fired, nine (9) 9mm caliber shells.
• in possession of the local man a pistol of 9 mm caliber and fifteen (15) cartridges of the same caliber.
• at the foreigner’s house -444- grams of raw cannabis, -1- iron fist, the amount of -870- euros, -1- empty pistol transport box, -1- precision electronic scales and -17- hunting cartridges.
A criminal case was filed against the native for attempted murder in conjunction with the law on weapons and against the foreigner for violations of the law on weapons and drug trafficking.
Also, in the context of the investigation of the case, another foreigner was arrested – brother and neighbor of the foreigner involved in the shootings -, for violations of the laws on drugs and weapons.
Preliminary investigation of the case is carried out by the Security Department of Zakynthos, while investigations are ongoing.
The arrested were taken to the Zakynthos Public Prosecutor’s Office.
