Answering questions from journalists, after the announcement of the General Secretariat for Civil Protection, about the restrictive measures that will apply in Zakynthos, the Vice President of the Hotel Chamber of Greece and President of the Laganas Hoteliers Association Christina Tetradi, stated the following:
“After the new special restrictive measures, a difficult summer becomes even more difficult. The health of all of us is above all, which is why our cooperation with the competent authorities for the new measures is given.
Zakynthos tourism has implemented and will continue to implement all appropriate sanitary measures. The hotels in Zakynthos, from the first day of their operation until today, operate exemplary, diligently observing all protection measures against coronavirus, with relevant training of their staff, fully complying with the strict rules of the Special Health Protocol for Hotels (HEALTH FIRST).
Unfortunately we will measure large financial costs and significant business losses, in an already lost tourist season. There is an urgent need to design a permanent mechanism to support businesses and employees in areas where special lockdown measures apply. “It is a matter of survival for Zakynthos, as our economy depends exclusively on tourism.”
