The number of flights is increasing as we approach mid-July and everyone’s wish is for the developments to be positive and for the results of the sampling: yesterday Monday, more than 10 aircraft from the Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, etc. landed at the airport. while today another 12 arrivals from Poland, the Czech Republic, Italy, Romania, Lithuania and elsewhere are expected. In the coming days, the number of flights will increase as 11 flights are scheduled for Wednesday, 15 flights on Thursday and 17 flights on Sunday.
July 15 Flights from Britain.
Many businessmen are relieved by the government’s decision in regards to launching direct flights from the UK from 15 July.
Since the UK market is one of our most popular, changes aren’t expected until they arrive.
Zakynthos Informer got in contact with Jet2 representatives and were told that their flights will start flying on the 15th to Zakynthos 5 days per week from several UK airports. Stating:-
No one can make an official statement at this time however it has been confirmed on our website that we are resuming flying and both the greek and UK government have confirmed we are allowed with no quarantine at either end as long as this remains agreed flights direct from the UK to zante will resume as of 15th July.
As for EasyJet we will be fondong out within the next few days. While EasyJet Holidays have annpounce they will start their packaged holidays on 1st August, offering an number of cheap deals.
Our Government spokesman, Mr Petsas said the decision on direct flights from Britain was made in consultation with the British authorities and after the agreement of the committee of experts. As far as Sweden is concerned, a country that has been the focus of international attention for its mismanagement of the coronavirus crisis has no plans to open its borders. According to the government spokesman, the epidemiological data will be constantly evaluated and the decision will be made according to the developments.

No tourists from Serbia
Direct flights to Greece are prohibited from the following countries, at least until July 15, Britain, Sweden, USA, Turkey, Northern Macedonia, Albania, Qatar, Russia, Brazil and Serbia.
Arrivals from Italy to the port of Zakynthos.
Ship arrivals from abroad have already started in the ports of Patras and Igoumenitsa, and as far as Zakynthos is concerned, announcements are expected regarding the protocols for the ship that will arrive to our island at the end of July from Italy, as it has not yet been announced how sample tests will be made. In the other ports of entry, the project of sampling inspections has taken over a mobile unit of EODY. From July 21st to August 28th there will be one route per week with departure every Tuesday and return on Wednesday following the route Brindisi – Kefalonia – Zakynthos – Kefalonia – Brindisi.
Cruises “on ice.”
As far as cruise ship arrivals are concerned, it is rather unlikely that we will see any plans to be made on our island this year, as most companies have canceled this year. The “loss” for Zakynthos in this case is small as the planned arrivals for this year were only 22 for the whole season, with the first 11 arrivals scheduled for July 11.
