High risk of fire for tomorrow in Zakynthos – What did Civil Protection of the Region of Zakynthos, announce.
The Department of Civil Protection of the Regional Unit of Zakynthos announces that, according to the Fire Risk Forecast Charter issued by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection of the Ministry of Civil Protection (www.civilprotection.gr), for tomorrow Friday 16/7/2021, forecast high fire risk (danger category 4) for Zakynthos
The General Secretariat for Civil Protection (www.civilprotection.gr) of the Ministry of Civil Protection has informed the competent state services involved, as well as the Regions and the Municipalities of the above areas, in order to be in a state of increased readiness in order to deal immediately with any incidents of fires.
At the same time, citizens are advised to be especially careful and to avoid outdoor activities that can cause a fire due to negligence, such as burning dry grass and branches or cleaning debris, the use of spark-generating machines such as circular saws, soldering irons, the use of soldering irons, smoking and throwing lighted cigarettes, etc. It is also reminded that the burning of fields is strictly prohibited during the fire season.
We remind you of the measure of the prohibition of pedestrian and vehicle traffic, from 18:00 in the afternoon until 06:00 in the morning of the next day, as well as the measure of the universal prohibition of entry every time the fire risk forecast map issued by the General Secretariat Civil Protection will provide for the Regional Unit of Zakynthos risk category 4 (Very High) and 5 (Alarm Status) throughout the fire season 2021 on the following forest roads and areas:
Vasilikos, Vougiato, Lagadakia, Fioliti, Galaro, Agioi Pantes, Drakas, Skoulikado, Kallithea, Pigadakia, Lagopodo, Macherado, Katastari, Keri, Marathias, Apelati, Agalas, Lithakia, Kiliomeno, Maries. Ag.Leononta, Gyri, Exochora, Loucha, Orthonies, Anafinitria, Volimes, Ano Volimes, Kalamaki, Bohali, Gaitani, parts of Zakynthos, or after a suggestion of the Fire Service of Zakynthos.
In case of fire, citizens are kindly requested to immediately notify the Fire Department at the call number 199.
