By June 26, at 14:00p.m , a bill by the Ministry of Tourism will be in public consultation, which will include a series of provisions for almost the entire tourism economy. As the Deputy Minister of Tourism Sofia Zacharaki notes in the The Athenian-Macedonian News Agency (APE-MPE) with this bill, a comprehensive approach of the tourism product is attempted, among other things, through the destination management organizations and at the same time, as she explains, key initiatives for the substantial development of tourism are introduced.  In any case, the goal is to substantially enhance the tourism product.

The following are briefly included in the bill:

Destination Management and Promotion Organizations

Establishment of a Societe Anonyme with the name “Thermal Springs of Greece – IPE”.

Signs of Visitable Breweries, Olive Mills and Dairies are established in order to promote the provision of reception, tour, hospitality and catering-tasting services

– Provision for the planning and organization of vocational education or training programs, in matters of the tourism sector and in special forms of tourism.

Establishment of a body for the management and utilization of the Zakynthos Shipwreck

Establishment of a Cruise Tourism Development Council

-Provisions for tourist offices, tourist businesses and tourist accommodation

In her statement to APE-MPE, Ms. Zacharaki focuses on the provision for the possibility of preparing seminars and training with the aim of acquiring new and upgrading existing skills.
