Zakynthos:- Level B High Risk RED Zone, new measures starting Thursday 04 March, 2021

Changes in the curfew will take effect from tomorrow, Thursday, March 4, 2021, at 6 in the morning, until Tuesday, March 16 at 6 in the morning, according to what Nikos Hardalias announced during the briefing by the Ministry of Health on the spread of the coronavirus in our country.

At the level of increased risk (red) it is valid from 9 pm to 5 in the morning (this is valid for Zakynthos), while areas at level B of very high risk (deep red) from 7 pm to 5 pm in the morning. With the exception of the Attica Region and the Thessaloniki Regional Unit, where the traffic ban on weekdays (Monday to Friday) is formed from 9 pm to 5 am, due to the metropolitan nature of these areas.

New areas in deep red not Zakynthos.

The Attica Region is classified at the level of very high risk (deep red), as well as the following Regional Units: Achaia, Arcadia, Thessaloniki, Larissa, Lefkada (except Meganisi), Fthiotida, Argolida, Corinth, Thesprotia, Arta, Boeotia, Chios, Etoloakarnania, Rhodes, Heraklion and Evia (except Skyros). Also, the Municipality of Kalymnos is classified at this level.

The new measures decided by the government are valid from tomorrow at 6 in the morning until March 16. Undersecretary of Civil Protection Nikos Hardalias, among other things, clarified the changes for the SMS codes for travel.

SMS code 2 for movement for the supply of basic goods, but also in SMS 3 for the banks, the movement will take place only within the relevant municipality,  or at a distance of up to 2 kilometers.
For the SMS 6 that concerns sport/ exercise, it will be done exclusively on foot or by bicycle. In other words, no one in all of Greece will be able to send code 6 to go by car or motorcycle to a destination for exercise.

In movement 4, checks will be made and more additional evidence will be required in order to establish the adequacy of exceptional movement for citizens.

Mr. Hardalias stated that the following differences apply to SMS throughout Greece, regardless of epidemiological risk:

As always the new measures have only just been announced Zakynthos Informer will update as soon as the detailsed measures have been published in the Government’s Gazette so that we can get more details. At the moment the measures are to keep us as close to home as possible and rules will be basically the same as they were when we were in the RED last time.
