The minister of civil protection and crisis management visited Zakynthos airport this morning. The visit was part of a ‘flying’ visit to 18 of the regional airports due to open from the 1/7/20.
His visit was to check that all health and safety protocol is in place to ensure a safe opening of borders.
In his interview(video below), he stated that. “ 250 samples will be taken daily from arrivals into Zakynthos airport – 1,100 are taken daily in Athens International Airport.”
A support team will be provided to help in the sampling process, making sure that public health comes first in every circumstance.
He also said that “ all passengers will complete a PLF on boarding the plane at their departure airport to include passport details, their previous and on ward travel details and their final destination so that should their sample be positive we can see where they have been and where they are now “
