Zakynthos: Navagiogate.com | Farewell to the fighter Lefteris Niotopoulos
As Zakynthos is in shock with the death of one of our loved citizens, Mr Lefteris Niotopolous, a flood of messages has been sent from all over the nation.
From our local MP, Government officials and simple folk who he touched with his grace and loving character all send a message of God Speed.
One particular message that stood out was from navagiogate.com team. although he had never met the team they owe their thanks for his support. This letter says it all, a real tribute to a man that always put his island and its people first.
“The sky darkened over Zakynthos when we heard of your death. Words hardly come out of people’s mouths. Unfortunate place, unfortunately, and despised.
God speed my friend…even though we have never met. And although you take what you did for so many within the journey you are about to take, we know only too well, the hours you put in to testify on February 1, 2017, on behalf of many, to save the lives and property of two hundred families from the mountainous region of Zakynthos.
The Only Political representative, and one of the few people who stood by our people in the hour of silence.
We promise you that your sacrifice and struggle will not be wasted. Now, we owe it to you.”

The funeral procession will take place on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 12 noon from the Holy Metropolitan Church of Zakynthos at public expense from the Ionian Islands Region.
Zakynthos Informer wish our friend and fellow citizen Καλό Ταξίδι.. since condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.
