Zakynthos:- One year ago John Tossell went missing… He is still classed as missing person.

A year ago John tossell a 73 year old, decided to go for a walk up Mount Skopos.  Below a statement by the family has been sent to Zakynthos Informer. An attempt to reach out to anyone who might have some information.

Statement:-

17th June will be one year since my father left his hotel at the Katerina Palace at Approx 9.30 and walked towards Mount Skopos. Last CCTV captured my father at 9.45 walking past the Windmill Bay hotel on the Vasilicos Road. One year on and we are still no closer to an answer to what happened to my father on that day. I know due to current circumstances there are a limited number of tourists on the island but if you are heading that way or living on the island, please keep my father’s image in your minds. Paying close attention to the clothes he was wearing. A royal blue polo shirt and a camouflage style baseball cap, khaki shorts and open toed sandals.

The community in Argassi and the whole of Zakynthos were so supportive at the time. This horrible event overshadows this beautiful island filled with kind and helpful people. Please help us again to discover the truth. If you were on holiday in Argassi on 17th June 2019. Please re look at your holiday photographs for any one who matches my fathers description in the background. We would also appeal to anyone who may have information but for whatever reason are reluctant to come forward. Please even it’s anonymous, we just need to know where he is to put him to rest. It has been such a hard year, there isn’t a day that goes by where we do not think of what happened to our father. We revisit it and go over it constantly in our minds. We just want an answer and an end to it all. Thank you again, the family of John Tossell. Please share this so it reaches as far as possible. We know there was a lot of publicity in Greece and the UK but we need the story to reach further in the hope of tracking down any witnesses.

As for the family, they are struggling with the fact that their father is still missing. Any news would be of great help. Those who were here on holiday at that time, look at your photographs. Perhaps you can help to ease the suffering of the Tossell family.
