Zakynthos:-Polish family in quarantine hotel. Negative test for baby.

  • Case management without panic and based on protocol

  • Molecular analyzers in operation in the hospital since yesterday

  • Tsilivi: Meeting of business people on health protocols

The pregnant Polish tourist, who tested positive for the coronavirus, is staying at the quarantine hotel “KERI VILLAGE” in Keri for at least another seven days. The woman who came with her family to the island on Friday for a vacation underwent a test at the airport. On Sunday, when the results came out she was found to be positive for the virus. Immediately, without panic, the procedure provided by the Hellenic Health Authority (EODY), the Civil Protection Service, the hospital and Ambulance Association (EKAB) was followed in order to properly manage the case. The woman was transported together with her husband and their child to the hotel by ambulance. Immediately tracking started by EODY.

The other members of her family were tested immediately, as well as those who came in direct contact with her at the hotel, where she was staying in Tsilivi. It is worth noting that the woman is asymptomatic.

Test also on a 16-month-old child.

The 16-month-old boy, the above woman’s child, who is also staying at the same hotel with the woman, also underwent a coronavirus test yesterday. He showed symptoms similar to those of the virus and in a communication he had with EODY, a tourist doctor, it was deemed necessary to perform the test, which came out negative and in fact within a few minutes, after it was done at the new state-of-the-art molecular analyzer at the General Hospital of Zakynthos.

Results of the father’s condition have not been publicly released at this stage.  However, it is believed the family are in good health and are being closely watched by our medical authorities.

We wish them a speedy recovery.
