As we said Christmas with a difference in Zakynthos…. Gifts we bring of love, music and song.
An idea from Zakynthian, Nikos Tranakas brings truly the Zakynthian spirit within a video he created. On his social media page Nikos writes:-
I had an idea, influenced by this particular song and a version I had seen recently as I was “fooling around” on the internet. The idea was to try to make this piece from scratch. Many difficulties, finding the right people, playing cops and robbers in the streets, proper equipment and various other things. However, with good will everything can be done and honestly all the difficulties became troublesome in the end.
The right people were found because they love what they do and I did not have to beg for something to be done.
Many thanks to my good “brother” friend Dimitris Christodoulopoulos who helped in the implementation of this project. Also. to thank Adriana Lykouresi for giving her voice to the song, I do not know if I could ask for anything more. Our little drummer Dionysis who, although we bothered him a little, did not complain to us at all and behaved like a proper professional.
I thank the “Stirizo” Volunteer Group for their valuable help. Giostra of Zakynthos for the concession of the drum and Giannis Stravopodis for the “psychological” support and for the direction of photography, as well as Haris Pomonis for some of the aerial shots of the video.
In this strange period for all of us that we are going through, let us give a note of optimism through the video and very soon we will all embrace together once more !!!
I wish you well listening to it, Merry Christmas with health to you and your family !!!
Nikos Tranakas
The song was sung by none other than our well known soprano singer and maestro of the women’s choir ΡΟΔΑΜΠΕΛΟΣ (Rodambelos), Andriana Lyskouresi.
Zakynthos Informer got in touch with Andriana to wish her a Merry Christmas and to ask her about the song.
“This song gives us hope, especially now in difficult times. I was glad to be part of its creation. It’s also my little way of saying Merry Christmas to all, Zakynthians here on our Island and of course those who are far from their homeland.”
Well, Christmas Zakynthian style?….. we do not need to say any more, just simply enjoy the song.
Merry Christmas…….
