Zakynthos:- Volunteers restore one of Zakynthos’ important monuments

After the actions of the Volunteer Group of Zakynthos, a special place of culture of our island changed its appearance for the better. The reason for the difference was due to the improvements at the location “Hill of Strani” The marble plaque was restored that reads “Here Solomos was inspired and wrote the Hymn to Freedom in May 1823”.

The team had decided a long time ago to proceed with interventions in the area and to honor the memory of Dionysios Solomos.

So with the help of George Mouzakis who offered to replace the marble plaque, the area is again beautiful and special.

The Volunteer Group of Zakynthos also received the relevant permits from the Municipality to proceed with the restoration of the marble slab.

We also remind you what the image of the plaque was like at the end of June. Sadly a pictue that the area does not deserve.

Fortunately, the Volunteer Group of Zakynthos intervened immediately and a very important area again has the image it deserves thanks to their actions and the Local Community of Bochali.
