Extension of air directions until Friday 6 and Sunday 8 November due to the new coronavirus.
The Civil Aviation Authority extended the flight instructions until Friday 6 and Sunday 8 November with the aim of protecting passengers and citizens from the new coronavirus pandemic.
In particular, it states the following:
- An extension of the air instructions regarding passenger flight restrictions to and from airports in Kozani “Filippos” and Kastoria “Aristotelis” was announced, until midnight on Friday, November 6, 2020.
- The air instructions regarding the suspension of flights between Greece and Turkey and between Greece and the region of Catalonia in Spain are extended until 8/11/2020 at midnight.
- The air directive is extended until 8/11/20, which provides that all flights to and from Greece, from Albania and Northern Macedonia, will be operated only at the International Airport of “Eleftherios Venizelos” Athens.
Also extended until Sunday 8 November 2020 the notam which provides that those travelling to Greece by air connection from Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Belgium, Spain, Albania and Northern Macedonia, 11 ( countries), will enter our country only with a negative Covid-19 test which will have been performed up to 72 hours before their arrival, while they will also be subjected to sampling tests, according to the instructions of the Civil Protection and EODY.
At the same time, the aviation directive is extended, until 8/11/2020, which includes for a ban on entry into the country of non-European citizens (Non EU Citizens). Citizens and permanent residents of the following 9 countries are excluded from this notation: Singapore, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Rwanda, South Korea, Thailand, Uruguay and the United Arab Emirates, however, will be subject to sampling tests on arrival in Greece. In relation to the pre-existing airline directive that has been extended, Singapore has been added to the list of exemptions and in addition to the list of exemptions for flights we accept, Canada, Georgia and Tunisia has been added.
As for the air directive for permanent residents from Israel, it is also extended until midnight on November 8 and stipulates that those travelling to Greece by air from Israel will enter our country only with a negative Covid-19 test which will have been carried out with PCR method up to 72 hours before their arrival. Also, the permanent residents of Israel who arrive in Greece, will be subjected again to sampling tests for covid-19, while the maximum entry limit of 10,000 travellers per week from Israel to all airports in Greece remains.
An extension until November 8, 2020 is announced for the air directive for Russia (permanent residents), which provides entry only with a negative test covid-19, which will be performed by PCR method up to 72 hours before their arrival at Athens airports , Thessaloniki and Heraklion, as well as a maximum of 500 passengers per week. In any case, the permanent residents of Russia who arrive in Greece, will be re-submitted to sampling tests for covid-19.
In addition, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) informs about the extension until 8/11/2020 of the mandatory completion of the Passenger Locator Form (PLF) at the electronic address https://travel.gov.gr/ by all international passengers flights to Greece.
For the air instructions, finally, the exceptions as they are from the pre-existing notam apply, while the repatriation programs of Greeks are also excluded.
