A large exercise was carried out this morning at 10 o’clock by the Fire Service of the Prefecture of Zakynthos under the code name “SEISIMICTHON 2024”, as part of the preparation of the Fire Service for dealing with events of seismic activity. The exercise took place at the premises of the Zakynthos Museum.
The scenario concerned four different events in the Museum building. In the role of trapped victims were mainly firefighters, but also students of the 4th Primary School. According to the scenario, it was necessary to extricate people after an earthquake and a small fire on the ground floor of the building, extinguish a fire on the ground floor, extricate students from the museum premises, rescue the injured, provide first aid to the injured and remove them from the area.
