There’s nothing like the taste of beautiful village sausages. There are many types but my favourite are the ones that also include leeks.
Here’s a recipe to try:-
What you need…
2 onions
2 tbsp. olive oil
2 cloves of garlic
1 kg potatoes (baby potatoes my favourite for this dish)
1 rosemary
4 carrots (optional)
1 tbsp. mustard
1 chicken cube
200 gr. water
lemon juice (1 lemon only)
salt
pepper
700 gr. village sausages
For serving
Feta cheese
oregano
pepper
What to do:-
Preheat the oven to 180o C on air.
Place a pan on high heat and add the olive oil.
Cut the onions into large pieces, the garlic into thin slices and put them in the pan.
Add the potatoes cut in half, the rosemary and mix.
(Cut the carrots into crescents and put them in the pan)…. This is opptional.
Saute all the vegetables for 2-3 minutes.
Add the mustard, the chicken cube, water, lemon juice, salt, pepper and mix all together.
Transfer to a baking tray and cover with foil. Bake for 1 hour.
Remove from the oven. Cut the sausages into 2-3 places and put them in the pan on top of the vegetables.
Raise the oven temperature to 190o C and bake for 20-25 minutes without the foil.
Serve with feta, oregano and pepper.
