48 hour strike for the ferries 23rd and 24th February

Ships will be moored on February 23rd and 24th. According to an announcement, the Panhellenic Union of Merchant Marine Sailors (PENEN) will participate in the 48-hour strike, with the prospect of escalating it.

The abolition of the BCC leads to galley working conditions, regulates wages according to the “international rulers” (Philippines, etc.).  At the same time it launches a fierce attack on trade union rights by effectively abolishing the union statutes and the democratic principles they enshrine.  In  their collective and trade union formation “states, among other things, the Union.

“The 48-hour strike,” says PENEN, “should be the springboard, the starting point so that the Seafarers can raise their fighting height even higher, to demand and impose solutions to their acute problems.”
