The Volunteer Group Of Zakynthos helping our COVID-19 front line workers.
The volunteer Group of Zakynthos has donated face shields to doctors and nursing staff.
To help fight the coronavirus and in a safe environment the Volunteer Group of Zakynthos decided to gift the hospital staff.
Head of the Volunteer Group of Zakynthos, Mr Dionysios Nikolopoulos got in contact with a Greek firm that designs the masks. “I first got in contact with the owner of the factory, Mr Nikos Tseklidis. His company is supplying a lot of face shields to hospitals around Greece. It’s also worth noting that the cost is very affordable compared to others”
A face shield from plastic is sold on the market for five to six Euros. However, Mr Tseklidis sells them for only two Euros. Stating that “his goal is for him to contribute to tackling this unprecedented health crisis and not making enrichments in a time of crisis.”
The Volunteer group of Zakynthos called on help to raise money and it was members from Zakynthos Informer, Today team with the help of the women’s choir RODAMBELOS that made the idea into reality.
Today the face shields have arrived and a representative from the Hospital of Zakynthos has collected them.
Holy Week this week and the Volunteers are out there doing what they do best. Making their community a better place.
Well done Volunteers…. and as I always say… GO VOLUNTEERS!!!!
