23rd game, 8th group, 3rd national division

The match between Katastari and Ikosimia took place on Sunday afternoon, 24/03, at the municipal stadium for the 23rd match of the 3rd national division championship. A game that will not be remembered as the opponents strength was very low, so the score, of 8-0, speaks for itself.

But this match, for the Zakynthian team, will remain in the history because it sealed, mathematically, that they will remain in the category, three games before the end of the championship.

This, of course, had happened several weeks ago, the typical part remained. The hosts were strongly determined to ‘get it over with’ as soon as possible. It happened in the 29th second of the game, with Tilopoulos taking the centre and Mezini, undisturbed, to make 1-0 with a header. This may have been the fastest goal of the championship.

Two minutes later came the second goal, when Kardaris executed the corner, the ball reached the first goalpost and Kapsaskis with a short header will note 2-0. From now on, not only had everything been judged but it was clear that Katastari would raise the score-pointer very high, as the match had become a monologue for the “oranges”.

At 10′ in an identical way, Kardaris executed the corner, the young goalkeeper of Ikosimia made a wrong exit and Matthew Kapsaskis, up close, with a header made it 3-0 for his team.

From the 15′ onwards, the hosts slowed down completely, seeing that the players of neighbouring Kefalonia, were obviously tired from their long journey and they could not continue at a fast pace. Whatever, they deserved a ‘well done’ for their earnest effort.

At 26′ Kardaris executed the corner, the defence receeded to the height of the large area, the ball found Mezini who shot, it is deflected off the players legs and then reached Karvounis, who was not offside, easily and close up he made it 4-0. With this score both teams went to the locker room.

In the second half, the game continued at this slow pace. At 48′ Mezini lost a penalty as Kefalonias goalkeepers made the save of the game. Kardaris had won the penalty.

At 54′, the pointer climbed to 5-0 when Mezini opposite Tseta and with a shot he made 5-0.

At 59′ came a nice goal for Katastari with Kapsaskis, Mezini and Petta. Kapsaskis with power passed to Mezini, he with a heel found Raphael Petta and the last one, undisturbed at the penalty mark, calmly with a powerful left made 6-0.

From 60′ onwards the technician of Katastari made changes, with the young goalkeeper Tamaresis, making his debut in the 3rd national division, to take the position of Drakopoulos and young Drosos the position of Raphael Petta.

At 67′ the score became 7-0 when Tilipoulos, on the back of the defence of Ikosimia, passed to Kapsaskis and from up close made 7-0.  he even achieved a hat trick. At 89′ again Kapsaskis made the final 8-0 for his team. It is worth noting that Katastari had three crossbars from Kardaris, Mezinis and Kapsaskis.
