Prices for admission tickets to the Museum of Acropolis will double during the summer period, Greek Culture Ministry announced on Monday.
The ticket price will increase from 5 to 10 euros from 1. April to 31. October when the Museum will operate with extended visiting hours. During the same period, the reduced ticket price will be at 5 euros.
In the winter months period, that is from 1. November to 31. March, the normal ticket price will be at 5 euros, while the reduced ticket will cost 3 euros.
30 percent of the Acropolis Museum revenues in the summer months will be given to the Ministry of Culture with the aim to improve the exhibition spaces of the museums that belong to the ministry, the statement said adding that the relevant decision is to be issued by the Culture and the Finance ministries soon.
The Culture Ministry says further that the double ticket pricing has already been implemented in archaeological sites and museums since 2016.
PS I suppose the Culture Ministry thinks the economic crisis was over or it has absolutely no interest that Greeks may also have the chance to get some glance of culture in summer.
