There will be changes to UK passport expiry dates in the event of a No Deal Brexit on 31 October 2019. The new rules will apply to any travel made after the 31 October in the event of the UK leaving under a No Deal scenario.
UK passports will have to have at least six months left on the passport (including both child and adult passports), in order to travel to most countries, with the exception of Ireland.
If you previously renewed your passport before the current one expires, it’s likely you may have had extra months added to the expiry date, but these extra months may not actually be included in your current passport, so it may leave you with a passport that is less than six months of expiration.
Example: three months remained on your previous passport before its last renewal. Your current passport was renewed with ten years and three months. You now have seven months left on your passport. Three months that were carried over may not however count, so your current passport is only valid for four months, therefore making it invalid for travel.
