The Ministry of Health announced an increase in the number of victims and cases of coronavirus This evening in his daily report. A total of 83 people have died and a total of 1,884 cases have been reported in Greece.
The representative of the Ministry of Health, infectious disease specialist Sotiris Tsiodras, announced that 52 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24hours with the total number reaching 1884.
According to Mr. Tsiodras, 2 new deaths have been recorded, with the total number of deaths in our country reaching 83 (60 men and 23 women). The average age of death was 74 years and 87% had imminent illness or age 70 and over.
84 patients are in intubation, with an average age of 67 years. 20% of them are women and the rest are men, while 14 patients have been discharged from the intensive care unit. Also, 77% of them suffer from underlying disease or were older than 70 years or older.
At this point, Mr. Tsiodras stated that Evangelismos hospital informed that out of a total of 39 inpatients in the hospital, 17 have been intubated and also 4 of them have been discharged today and another 6 are in very good health. The data is very encouraging because the hospital of Evangelismos is the largest Intensive Care Unit and the quality of care provided is ascertained.
Also, out of the total number of cases, 57% are men. Of the total confirmed cases, 509 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 708 are related to an already known case, while the rest are not related to travel or another known case or are still under investigation.
32528 laboratory tests have also been performed for the presence of COVID-19.
