Coronavirus:- Greece updates, Complete travel ban for Easter.

105 dead in Greece – 15 new cases.

Three more people lost their lives in our country in the last 24 hours, due to the covid -19 , as the infectious disease specialist and representative of the Ministry of Health, Sotiris Tsiodras, announced this evening Holy Thursday (April 16).

The death toll in our country now stands at 105, including 76 men and 29 women. 89.5% had an underlying disease or are over 70 years old. According to Mr. Tsiodras, the new confirmed cases of coronavirus in Greece are 15, bringing the total number to 2,207.

Among the people hospitalized, 69 are intubated. 83% have an underlying disease or are elderly. Their average age is 68 years. Of these, thirteen are women and the rest are men.

At the same time, 33 patients have left the ICU.

Mr Tsiodras noted that studies show a significant lack of immunity and the need for vigilance in the coming months.

Traffic ban: New Easter restrictive measures – Double fines and sweeping checks.

Nikos Hardalias announced new restrictive measures for Easter, today, within the established information about the course of the spread of covid-19 in our country.

The Deputy Minister of Civil Protection, Nikos Hardalias, announced that two new restrictive measures will take effect on Easter.

Speaking after the infectious disease specialist Mr. Sotiris Tsiodras, Mr. Hardalias announced that from 21:00p.m on Saturday night until midnight on Easter Monday, the fine will be doubled (from 150 to 300 Euros) for unnecessary travel throughout the country. Violators will also see their license plates removed.

At the same time, exceptional mobility assistance will be provided to people in need, code B4, which will be scanned and thoroughly inspected by inspection agencies across the country in relation to the point of departure and destination and can only be done for two people per vehicle. He announced that abusive use of case B4 entails a fine of 300 Euros and removal of license plates for the driver and a fine of 150 Euros to the passenger.

He reiterated that on Easter day, all measures taken by the vast majority of citizens will apply.

The unprecedented situation we are facing has changed everything around us, it has affected the way we experience these holy days, he said.

Referring to relevant measurements, he noted that 9 out of 10 of our fellow citizens state that they will celebrate according to the rules imposed by the conditions, will follow the instructions and expressed his thanks and gratitude. He pointed out that they are proving that their love for their homeland, their fellow human beings, is real.

However, everything is going well, but it is important that we continue, without exception, the effort, he pointed out and added: “The process of submitting tax returns is now electronic, so our elderly fellow citizens do not need to circulate. The deadline is June 30th to process this year’s tax returns, there is no reason to hurry. ”
