The government representative for the government’s plan for the re opening of the economy and education in our country in the midst of a pandemic.
Government spokeswoman Aristotle Peloni spoke about the government’s plan to reopen the economy and education in our country in the midst of a coronavirus pandemic. Ms. Peloni referred to the use of self tests, mass vaccinations and support measures as well as the Mitsotaki-Biden telephone conversation.
As Mrs. Peloni mentioned, speaking on Open T.V and Faye Mavragani, in the last few days we have de-escalated imports. “If the situation de-escalates in the coming days it will be a positive indicator and so we will see a controlled opening – a controlled restart. The weather also helps in regards to doing outdoor activities. “We have asked the committee for opening dates in early April,” she said.
Responding to the use of self tests, the government spokeswoman commented that “the committee is positive in the use of self tests, they are reliable. “We will have 1.5 million more vaccinations in April.” Regarding the opening of schools, she stressed that high school has priority, in which tests will be mandatory for students and teachers.
According to Ms. Peloni, the government’s goal is to vaccinate vulnerable groups by the beginning of May, at least with the first dose of the vaccine, so that mass vaccinations can begin in early summer. She stressed that there is a possibility that restaurant will open outdoors in April, while she announced that the committee for catering and retail will meet next week. For the move from municipality to municipality, the government spokeswoman said it was still too early to lift the measure.
Regarding the telephone conversation between Mitsotaki and Biden, Ms. Peloni stressed that they had a cordial discussion, while as she said “within 2021 it would be reasonable for a visit to take place”.
