Covid- Removal of measures:- What changes for entering Greece

Removal of measures – What changes in regards to certificates and self test
The new relaxation of the measures for the coronavirus decided by the government in view of the summer

A new beginning comes with the new month, as many things change in our lives from yesterday regarding the measures that have been taken for the coronavirus.

As of yesterday, the display of vaccination and disease recovery certificates for access to enclosed public spaces is abolished.

In particular, vaccinated and unvaccinated people enter freely in restaurants, entertainment and shopping malls. At the same time, from today all areas can operate at 100% of their capacity.

One step towards normalcy.

Citizens must show a strong sense of responsibility, in the phase in which the country is entering from today until August 31st. The removal of all restrictions on the coronavirus pandemic is a first step towards normalcy in the post-coronavirus era.

Both the competent health services of the Ministry of Health, as well as the scientists of the Committee of Experts, emphasize that we should show the utmost care and not be complacent, as the pandemic is not over.

The reckless use of our freedom from today, may lead to a new outbreak of the epidemic, even in the summer, experts say.

The Deputy Minister of Health, Mina Gaga, during the recent information stressed that the reduction of cases lately, proves that “the pandemic has really entered a phase of dropping, which is very important, and we are starting a regularity, of course following all the “Other European countries, we are slowly stopping the measures and starting to live normally,” she said.

What measures are abolished from today, May 1st

The measures lifted from today 1/5/22, are:

The mandatory demonstration of the vaccination and disease certificate (Covid pass) from 01.05.22 to 31.08.22 is abolished, for access to all closed and open areas.

The need to use or display the EUDCC certificate at the country’s gateways is suspended. Meaning visitors no longer need to prove they have been vaccinated.

Travellers to Greece will be able to enter the country without presenting a digital covid certificate which indicates whether someone has been vaccinated against Covid-19, a recovery certificate or a negative test.

According to an announcement of the CAA, from yesterday and onwards regarding all domestic and international air travel (arrivals / departures) the only obligation of passengers and employees is the use of a mask.

From 01.05 to 31.08 the operation of all countries returns to 100%.

Regular self-tests on students and teachers are abolished.

The rapid test for unvaccinated teachers and faculty members is reduced to 1 (from 2 until today).

Remains the 1 rapid test per week (from two until now) in unvaccinated workers.

Excludes hospitals and Elderly Care Units (MFIs) which remain the 2 rapid tests per week for unvaccinated workers.

Masks have NOT been ruled out, and still must be used. It is not mandatory to use them outdoors, but where there is congestion, it would be good for the most vulnerable citizens to wear them.
