Greeks in the United Kingdom who wish to vote in the European elections will have to travel to neighboring European Union countries in order to vote, the Greek Embassy in London announced on Wednesday.
The UK will not be holding a vote due to the country’s imminent departure from the EU.
The embassy said that those wishing to vote can submit an application at the consular office in London or the honorary consular offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Gibraltar, Leeds and Birmingham by March 21 in order to be included on the electoral rolls of Greek diplomatic and consular authorities in the country of his or her choosing.
The application can only be filled in through the interior ministry website www.ypes.gr, state news agency amna reported on Wednesday.
KTG assumes that this is valid for other EU nationalities in UK as well.
