The first international flight arrived on our Island today at exactly 14.02p.m, starting the summer season off with the flight practically full. Easyjet flight 8745 from Gatwick airport to Zakynthos departed at 08.35a.m and arrived at 14.02p.m on Zakynthian soil, with a 2 minute delay.
Then it was a quick turn around heading back to Gatwick at 14.42p.m. It was interesting to note that although the flight was full, most who were on the flight were those who have businesses or own property here and with the winter season finished, have found the time to return to their second home. During the week international flights will increase the next being from the Netherlands on Wednesday, the third of April, which is due to arrive from Schiphol airport at 10.45a.m. Although Zakynthos has seen a drop by 11% in booking this year, let’s hope that the Easyjet flight brings our little island luck for a good tourist season.
