The first case of Covid, imported from a tourist, has been confirmed in Zakynthos. First reports state the Polish guest was staying in Tsilivi.
The person is awaiting transfer to the quarantine hotel in Zakynthos, which in this case is the Keri Village hotel in Keri which is specially set up for such a scenario.
The case was discovered after the sample test on arrival. Following protocol the order has been given for the tourist and her family to be transferred to the quarantine hotel. Tracking of anyone she may have been in contact with is underway so they can be informed.
Everyone should be reassured that this is an isolated incident, that is being dealt with as per government guidance for the safety and protection of others. It also shows that the testing and quatrains system that has been set up on Zakynthos, for such a situation, works.
