According to information out about three hours ago, a relevant NOTAM has been issued and posted in the Government’s Gazette, stating a ban on flights from England and Turkey will apply.
All midnight flights from Britain and Turkey are suspended at midnight, according to the Joint Ministerial Decision published in the Government Gazette.
This is an extension of the measure in force for Italy and Spain, and it is recalled that with Turkey the land borders are closed.
The ban will be in effect to and from both countries from 0600a.m Monday 23rd of March until 15.00p.m April 15
The temporary restriction on the entire landing of aircraft originating in the United Kingdom is to stop the spread of COVID-19 into the Hellenic territory.
The prohibition does not include:
(a) Greek citizens, holders of residence permits, as well as persons having their principal residence or habitual residence in Greece;
(b) the transit of lorries for the carriage of goods;
(c) The carriage of goods by ship.
