Former Greek PM to visit Zakynthos

The former Prime Minister and President of the political party SYRIZA, Alexis Tsipras, will visit our island tomorrow, Thursday 16/07.

The leader of the opposition will visit Zakynthos as part of his overall political presence in the Greek regional areas.

According to information, Mr. Tsipras arrives on the island with the first flight from Athens tomorrow. Immediately, meetings will start with local authorities.

His programmre also involves meeting with businesses,  talking to shop owners and to fellow citizens.

The details programme will be announced later today. What seems to have been clarified is that Mr. Tsipras, immediately after his contacts and meetings on our island, will leave late in the afternoon for Kefalonia.

Zakynthos is the fifth island destination around the country after Crete, Rhodes, Corfu and Kos.

Tourist areas currently affected by the coronavirus are at the forefront, their needs of a balanced and equitable policy in order to withstand the economic difficulties.

Island society is in urgent need of support at all levels.

The former MP of Zakynthos, Stavros Kontonis of the same political party, is already on the island, in order to participate in the organisation of the local reception.
