The coronavirus epidemic is raging in Greece, maintaining the level of 1200 new cases on a daily basis.
On the afternoon of Thursday 29/10, the National Organization of Public Health (EODY) announced the new laboratory confirmed cases of the disease are 1211, of which 47 are associated with known influxes and 35 were detected after checks at the country’s gates.
The total number of cases is 35510 (daily change + 3.5%), of which 55.2% are men. 4043 (11.4%) are considered related to travel from abroad and 12843 (36.2%) are related to an already known case.
The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 12, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 615 deaths have been recorded. 234 (38.0%) were women and the rest were men. The median age of our deceased fellow citizens was 79 years and 96.3% had some underlying disease and / or age 70 years and over.
The number of patients treated by intubation is 114. Their median age is 65 years. 34 (29.8%) are women and the rest are men. 91.2% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years of age or older.

Tests were reduced by half due to yesterday’s holiday. The number of tests stands as 12,069 laboratory tests were performed and 894 rapid.
