Coronavirus: 1 in 2 cases in Attica, 66 in the centre of Athens, the distribution
The distribution of coronavirus cases throughout the country – How many were found in Attica, in the center of Athens and in Thessaloniki
Although the cases of coronavirus in Attica appear reduced in numbers compared to the last 24 hours, they remain at a high epidemiological level. Specifically, according to the announcement of EODY, 222 cases were identified in Attica – out of 484 in total in the country – while in the centre of Athens 66 cases were reported. 58 new infections were detected in Thessaloniki, according to the distribution from the EODY data.

EODY announcement on the cases.
Today we announce 484 new cases of coronavirus infection (COVID-19), of which 10 were identified after checks at the country’s gates. The total number of cases is 156,957, of which 52% are men. During the tracking it was found that 5,953 (3.8%) are considered related to travel from abroad and 49,216 (63.9%) are related to an already known case.
255 people are treated by intubation. Their median age is 69 years. 187 (73.3%) of the intubated are men. 86.7% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are aged 70 years and older. 1,113 patients have been discharged from the ICU since the beginning of the pandemic.
Finally, we have 17 new deaths from COVID-19, reaching 5,796 deaths in total in the country, of which 3,406 (58.8%) are men. The median age of our deceased fellow citizens was 79 years and 95.5% had an underlying disease and / or age 70 years and over.
