A new record of coronavirus cases in Greece was set on Wednesday afternoon, with EODY announcing 865 new infections.
The 82 are connected with known confluences and 44 were identified after checks at the country’s entrance gates. The total number of cases is 27334, of which 55.6% are men. The situation now seems out of control and new emergency measures and local lockdown are expected, so that there is no further deterioration.
Of the cases, 3672 (13.4%) are considered related to travel from abroad and 10802 (39.5%) are related to an already known case.
We have 6 more recorded deaths and 534 deaths in total in the country. Of the coronavirus victims, 201 (37.6%) were women and 333 were men.
The median age of our dying fellow citizens was 79 years and 96.3% had some underlying disease and / or age 70 years and over
It is worth noting that 86 of our fellow citizens are treated by intubation. Their median age is 66 years. Of these 28 (32.6%) are women and 58 men. 91.9% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are aged 70 years and older. Finally, 265 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
The measures for the coronavirus pandemic were announced by the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection, Nikos Hardalias.
The Undersecretary announced that the Committee of Infectious Diseases has decided to change the hazard map:

Kastoria is officially put in a mini lockdown (level 4), as announced on Wednesday by the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection Nikos Hardalias after the meeting of the expert committee of the Ministry of Health, characterizing the situation as “extremely critical”. The measures will be implemented from Friday, October 23, at 6 in the morning.
As for Zakynthos over the last 10 days the map shows us at white, Zero cases to 100.00 population mark.
