Ingeborg Beuchel, a Dutch reporter says she intended to travel to the Netherlands next week, but her trip was postponed and that she herself decided to leave Greece for an unknown period of time.
Ingeborg Beuchel: I am leaving Greece, says the journalist who “irritated” Mitsotakis
She complained that she was attacked by a man after the verbal incident with the Greek Prime Minister
Her intention to leave Greece, as she no longer feels safe in the country, was expressed by the Dutch journalist, Ingeborg Beuchel, who became famous after the verbal incident she had with Kyriakos Mitsotakis during a press conference at the Maximos Palace.
In fact, in an interview given by the Dutch media NU.nl, she complained that the same night after the press conference, she was attacked by a man, who, after initially verbally attacking her, then threw a stone at her.
“As I was walking home on a dark street, a man threw a stone at my head. He called me a Turkish prostitute and a Turkish spy and said I should go to Erdogan. Then I ran home very quickly. “That was scary,” the Dutch journalist described, noting that she could no longer walk the streets alone or wear her red hat.
At the same time, she expressed her concern saying that she is not protected by the Greek authorities, for this reason and has decided that she wants to leave the country.
As she noted on Sunday, the journalists’ union contacted the Foreign Ministry and the embassy immediately, with Beuchel, saying: “Then I was advised to leave Greece as soon as possible.”
The Dutch website writes, however, that its intention is to return at some point: “They will probably want to make my life difficult. “But my life is here and I have an important job to do here,” she said.
