Lockdown: With click away and phone, retail opens.
Despite the opposition of infectious disease specialists, the government is opening up the market to retail. In stores only for receipt of products via click away or telephone order
The government is opening stores, even temporarily easing restrictions on the coronavirus lockdown before Christmas to allow retail to operate. However, as Sofia Fasoulaki reported on Open TV, citizens will be able to visit the stores only by the click away method or by phone.
Consumers should have found the products they want to buy online and then the receipt will be made after consultation with the store. This measure is favoured in order to reduce mobility, as infectious disease specialists are opposed to the opening of retail.
Infectious disease specialists, however, are reluctant to name specific industries and professionals to open stores, insisting that these epidemiological data should not increase mobility, which in turn will lead to new cases and greater spread of the virus.
As for the rest, shops that can open their doors -as announced by ethnos.gr- will be
- Hair Salons
- bookstores
- florists
According to the information so far – provided that the epidemiological data will not change significantly – the government is expected to announce its decisions tomorrow, Friday. The Minister of Development Adonis Georgiadis and the government representative Stelios Petsas will participate in the established afternoon briefing on coronavirus.
