Greece:- slight changes in Domestic travel…. What tests are needed

What changes are there in regards to covid certificates for domestic flights.

Changes regarding the illness certificate were also announced on Thursday by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), which concern domestic air travel.

Specifically, travellers are required to bring a certificate / certificate of illness issued within fourteen (14) days after the first positive test (pcr) and its validity lasts up to ninety (90) days after that.

In particular, the new Notam of domestic flights after the last change provides:

Passengers to all destinations in the country must meet one of the following conditions:

Have completed at least fourteen (14) days of vaccination for COVID-19 coronavirus and demonstrate a vaccination certificate. The European digital certificate COVID-19 (EU DIGITAL COVID-19 CERTIFICATE) is also acceptable. The vaccination certificate includes the name of the person, the type of vaccine given and the number of doses.

Demonstrate a disease certificate issued within fourteen (14) days after the first positive test (pcr) and its validity lasts up to ninety (90) days after that, according to the provisions of current legislation.

Domestic flight passengers who have not been vaccinated to board the airplane must have been tested negative for COVID-19 coronavirus laboratory PCR within the last seventy-two (72) hours prior to the scheduled flight time or within forty-eight ( 48) hours with rapid test before the departure of their flight.

Minors from four (4) to seventeen (17) years old can make their air travel by performing a self-test provided free of charge by the State and carried out up to twenty-four (24) hours before the scheduled flight time.

The above certificates / passes are displayed either printed by the platforms www.gov.gr and HTTPS://SELF-TESTING.GOV.GR or in digital form with simultaneous identity check of the holder.

Employees…. What do they need.

Disease certificate: When issued only with rapid test – When PCR is needed.

The procedure changes after the decision of the Ministry of Health regarding the issuance of a covid disease certificate which gives the employee the right to receive 5 days of paid leave. According to information from “Imerisia”, the new decision, which will probably be issued later in the day, stipulates that vaccinated people will receive the relevant certificate only with a positive rapid test and will not need to do a molecular test.

Unlike unvaccinated people, the issuance of a disease certificate will be allowed only after a PCR diagnostic test that shows that they are positive for the coronavirus.

Recalling that to date, the relevant certificate required a positive PCR for both vaccinated and unvaccinated. Employees who test positive for the virus, in order to receive the 5-day leave, must report the result to the Ergani system.
