The bill of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the “determination of the width of the coastal zone in the sea area of June and the Ionian Islands up to Cape Tainaro of the Peloponnese” was submitted to the Parliament.

As this bill expands the borders of the country, the Speaker of Parliament Konstantinos Tassoulas announced that he will exercise the right he has under the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament (article 72) to hold a roll-call vote so that the obvious absolute majority can be seen.

With the “urgent” procedure, the bill for the supply of French Rafale fighter jets is expected to be submitted in the coming days. According to the work schedule of the Parliament, this bill will be submitted to the competent Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense of the Parliament on Tuesday, January 12, and its elaboration will be completed on Wednesday, January 13 (in three sessions, however). In the Plenary Session of the Parliament, the bill is scheduled to be introduced for discussion and voting on Thursday, January 14.

 

On the morning of Friday, January 15, on the initiative of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the government will inform based on article 142A of the CB on the management of the pandemic.

The legislative “leg” for 2021, however, will be made with the bill of the Ministry of Interior “Modernization of the recruitment system in the public sector and strengthening of the Supreme Personnel Selection Council (ASEP)” as its second reading bill in the Public Administration Committee of the Parliament is scheduled to be held on Monday 11 January and to be introduced for discussion and voting in Plenary on Wednesday 13 January 2021.
