The opening of the hotels is in the last phase of the plan to lift the measures. When will they work? Which hotels are involved.
According to the plan to lift the restrictive measures announced to the Greek people by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in his speech and later with his specialization by the Deputy Minister of Development, Nikos Papathanasis, the opening of the hotels is in the last phase of the plan.
According to the announcements, the activity in the catering sector will start on June 1st, always with conditions that will have been agreed by then. On the same day, the all year round hotels will open. Then the second wave of Justice work will be activated.
Rules and Regualtions
For hotels, the rules and measures for the protection of restaurants, as far as cafes and restaurants are concerned, apply. That is, there will be tables only in outdoor areas, with a minimum distance of 2 meters from the tables and with 4 people at each table.
In June, and depending on developments, the rest of the economic activity will be gradually released. However, it is unlikely that large gatherings, such as festivals, concerts or sporting events with spectators, will be allowed during the summer.
It was preceded by a decision in mid-March to suspend the operation of hotels until the end of April, in order to limit the pandemic. In any case, for each stage anmd lifting of measures there will be announcements in total for the restart of the tourist economy, which will include the opening of seasonal hotels, tourist offices, etc.
Holiday accommodation will open in June, but there will be new clarifications in due course.
