Εφ. Damoulaki: “We have many questions from our fellow citizens who are worried”
There are many cases of our fellow citizens expressing their concern about the fact. Those in the age group of 60-64 years can not be vaccinated for the time being as the AstraZeneca vaccine has not yet arrived on our island. The Scientific Officer of the Health Center of Zakynthos Efi Damoulaki, referring to this, noted that there is no relevant information, while she asked our fellow citizens to be patient.
I have many questions from our fellow citizens who are worried and anxious and I think they should be reassured because there will definitely be care for this issue. I do not know why the platform has not been opened and no registrations have been made. There is no reference to this issue regarding the Health Center, without implying that this age group should be concerned. I believe that we will definitely have news “.
Ms. Damoulaki informed from this fact, the vaccinations are going well and no other problems have occurred on our island.
“Vaccinations continue normally. We had no movement problems here. The vaccines are coming and we are moving forward. “I think people are constantly gaining more and more confidence in the vaccine and there is more demand.”
In fact, the Scientific Officer of the Health Center of Zakynthos stressed that after information from the 6th Health District, whenever there are gaps in vaccinations will be covered by other categories.
“We received an information leaflet from the 6th Health District that when we have gaps we can include other categories such as teachers, municipal employees, employees in pharmacies, etc. I contacted the associations of all categories and they have been informed. This is good so that they can give us a list of employees who wish to be vaccinated. We will make an age classification and based on that, when we have gaps, we will make vaccinations “.
KOMY staff working about 10-12 hours a day”
Several times in the past there has been reports about the staff of KOMY, which conducts rapid tests throughout the island. Ms. Damoulaki, who is also the supervisor of the Mobile Unit, stressed that there is a big struggle, despite the fact that the staff works long hours.
“The staff are working countless hours. About 10-12 hours a day to ensure to make ends meet. They have a great mood and appetite for work. I ask our fellow citizens to be patient. Anyone in great need will do a rapid test, but be patient. KOMY will go where it can, there is no case “.
Ms. Damoulaki stressed that until there were increased cases, the staff of KOMY was sufficient, however at this stage it has a very haevy workload
“Until we had increased cases in the school community, the staff of KOMY was sufficient. For this reason, the 6th Health District and EODY were not asked to assist with personnel. The 6th Health District has also stood by our side and whatever we asked for, the Member of Parliament for Zakynthos is willing to help. Until then, no such issue was raised. With the increase of cases, the needs of KOMY staff increased. I address the Municipality because the schools are the responsibility of the Municipality. Mr. Spinos has supplied us with tests while the Deputy Regional Governor Mr. Stasinopoulos has supplied us with materials “.
From there on, Ms. Damoulaki stated that there is a congestion regarding the rapid tests at the Health Center and asked the citizens to go to the General Hospital of Zakynthos, while it has been discussed with the Municipality to make a contract with private clinics that they will do a rapid test
