In an interview with Kate Smith, arriving on our Island celebrating the 75th Anniversary of operation “Dastard” she talked about the history of the operation and whilst speaking to Bobby Gee about the memorial service it was a nice surprise to have Themis Marinos son, Anthony Marinos. He thanked the British people for paying respect to his father and then told a personal story about the time his father told him about the operation.
The memorial service was today and although the weather was not the best, the turn out was an excellent one.
The memorial service was also attended by Tim Ferns, Captain Royal Navy Defence Attaché to Athens and Sofia, Mr Matthew Delapp, Honorary British Vice-Consul, The Metropolitan Bishop Dodonis Chrisostomos, The Mayor of Zakynthos, Mr Pavlos Kolokotsas, as well as the Marinos family, officials and friends.
