‘Kinonikos Turismos / Social Tourism 2019

Kinonikos Turismos / Social Tourism is a subsidised programme for the beneficiaries and their benefiting members to stay in tourist accommodation, in Greece. that is participating in the programme and they have been included in the ‘Mitrow Parohon / Register of Providers’ of OAED.

The beneficiaries and their benefiting members need to be holders of ‘Epitayis Kinoniko Turismo / Social Tourism cheques.

The programme is compiled by a Joint Ministerial Decision issued every year, on the basis of which, a Public Invitation from the Agency is published with its detailed terms and conditions. The ‘Dimosia Proklisi / Public Invitation is posted on the OAED website.

The programme lasts about 12 months. The specific start and end dates are defined in the Public Invitation.

Beneficiaries of the program are workers and unemployed  who:

– had 50 days of work in IKA ETAM insurance OR
– received from OAED 50 days of a special maternity protection permit OR
– received an unemployment benefit of at least 2 months (50 daily benefits) OR
– gather 50 days, cumulatively, of the above (working days, special maternity protection and unemployment benefit), as well as registered unemployed in the Special Register of Unemployed People with Disabilities from OAED on the closing date for submission of applications.

Furthermore, for someone to be a beneficiary:

– should not have received a Social Tourism cheque in the immediately preceding programme, i.e. in 2018, only disabled beneficiaries can receive a Social Tourism cheques in consecutive programmes,
– should not have received a similar provision from any other organization for the same time period.

Benefiter

Benefiters of the programme are:
– children of beneficiaries aged 5-18,
– children of beneficiaries aged 18-24 years when insured by the beneficiary or their other parent, the spouses of the beneficiaries, when insured by them,
– escorts of people with disabilities.

Benefiters are declared by the beneficiaries in their application.

In addition, for someone to be a benefiter:

– they should not have received a Social Tourism check in the immediately preceding programme, i.e. in 2018, only disabled beneficiaries can receive Social Tourism in consecutive programmes,
– they should not have received a similar provision from any other organization for the same time period.

Beneficiaries may carry out stays from one to five nights, whenever they wish during the implementation of the programme, in a tourist accommodation that they freely choose the ‘Mitrow Parohon / Register of Providers’ of OAED. after consulting with the provider of the accommodation.

The only restriction placed on the choice of tourist accommodation is not located in the same Regional Unity as their place of residence or if it is in the same Regional Unity, it falls within the exceptions mentioned in the Public Invitation.

Beneficiaries and tourist accommodation providers submit an online application to participate on specific dates specified in the Public Invitation. Beneficiaries in their applications also declare their benefiting members.
