Actress Olivia Colman won Best Actress Oscar 2019 Award for her performance as Queen Anne in Yorgos Lanthimos film “The Favourite.”
Despite the ten nominations, The Favourite won only one Award – but it seems that in the 91. Academy every film went home with only one Oscar.
Upon hearing Coleman’s name being called out, Yorgos Lanthimos stood up and kissed the winner.
He followed Colemn’s acceptance speech with tears in his eyes.
Lanthimos’ tears did not escape the attention of the floor director, who zoomed on him (video below at 1’35”)
Olivia Colman went to stage saying “It’s genuinely quite stressing!”
In her acceptance speech, Coleman thanked “Yorgos, my best director and my best film, Emma [Stone] and Rachel [Weisz] you made me happy every day…”
The Favourite had won ten nominations: for Best Picture, Director, Actress, Supporting Actress, original Screenplay, Production Design, Cinematography, Costume Design, Film Editing, Make Up & Hair.
